It's worship Wednesday again, and this song is a new favorite. When I look back on some of the really hard things that I have been through I can see that God was working. There are those times where I was sure that I was left alone and abandoned. Looking back I can see that God was with me the whole time. This song captures that so perfectly. I love the way that the New Living Translation says that He snapped the chains. He didn't just take them off- He snapped them. Let's praise him for breaking our chains too! This song from Jesus culture is perfect for this verse.

Lord, help us to serve you with gladness. Let the words that we speak today draw others to you. Help our words to heal, comfort, and bless. Let us meditate on you today, not just check in throughout the day when we need you. Turn our hearts to you and make us pleasing to you. Amen.

This verse isn't just for the good days. Every day filters through the hand of God. Even the days that are challenging, the days that stretch us, and even the days that bring us right to our knees. No matter what we face, we can choose to rejoice. It isn't always easy. We can have hope and joy because in John 16:33 Jesus tells us this:

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

 This verse tells us two things, we WILL have trouble, and we don't have to worry, Jesus has overcome. If there is nothing else about the day that we can rejoice in, then we can rejoice that the God who lives within us has overcome the world.

So many people that I love are stricken with anxiety. At times when I find myself struggling with anxiety, I know that I have two choices. I can continue to focus on what I am anxious about or I can change my focus. It's not always easy. Most of the time it is very difficult. It takes a real conscious effort to change my focus. If you are struggling with anxiety, pray. Don't just say that you're worried about something. Lay it all out. Be real. Be honest. God already knows all that you are facing, he knows all the burdens that you carry. Let him carry things for a while.

Right now I am in the middle of selling a house, raising two small little boys and all that comes with that. Things are hectic to say the least. I love knowing that my Father has my path in his hands. I don't have to worry about anything. I just have to trust!

This just blows my mind. To think that God not only made the stars, but he gave them a name. It just makes me think of how much He loves me too.
